TRUFC U14’s Host 4 Way Tournament for Touring Sandbach Side

Last Sunday Tarleton Under 14’s hosted Sandbach, LSH & Southport in a four way tournament. The weather was great for the touring side from Sandbach.
First match was Tarleton vs Sandbach. Captain Joe Turner presented Sandbach’s captain with a club tie. (pictured) unfortunately Tarleton were defeated 17-10 despite a strong performance.
The lads then went on to beat Southport 1st team, a first for these U14s since their inception and a very proud moment for coach Joe Bullen and Team Manager Simon Martindale.
A strong LSH then beat Tarleton 24-0 but this defeat could not overshadow the pprevious result and win!Andy Mitchell Head Coach from Sandbach said “A huge thanks to Si at Tarleton for fixing up a multi-fixture with his boys, LSH & Southport yesterday to complete our tour. All quality outfits and our boys had a great time. Thank you ”

LSH’s coach said “Thanks for the hospitality yesterday. Very enjoyable morning. Have to say, your pitches are immaculate.2

TRUFC U14s Team Manager Simon Martindale said “The lads played a very strong defensive game, mostly in the midfield against two highly experienced sides. They extolled immense sportsmanship and respect, very very proud of them.
Well done to everybody involved in organising the event it just goes to show how much this team has come on this year everyone at TRUFC is proud of every single one of you!

Unfortunately I couldn’t watch the games due to being on kitchen duty but I made loads of tea AND coffee and also passed on the food orders to Janet who called me at one point “the face of Tarleton “ in other news she also said “stop moaning “ as I couldn’t see all the pitch from the serving hatch. I can confirm though that it was the first time our team has EVER beat Southport in the 8 years he’s been a member of TRFC and I’m fine with not actually seeing the game, oh and in the LSH game where my lad Archie done the try save of the season ripping the ball out of the big props hands between the posts and getting it back to the halfway point dodging six players from a team unbeaten all season, I’m alright with not seeing that too😖.
Janet Jones makes the best bacon buttys in the area BTW and roll on next year when we get even better and it’s someone else’s turn in the kitchen !
    Goooooooooo Terriers 😁.
I’m not even bothered or anything.
