Following the events and Govt advice surrounding COVID-19, the organising committee of the Tarleton Rugby Club 30th Year Anniversary Gala Dinner at the Club’s marquee event at Carr Lane, Tarleton has taken the precautionary decision to postpone the dinner to be held on 9th May 2020 from 7pm.
The Gala Dinner was being organised to celebrate the Club’s achievements over 30 years. Also following the recent sad loss of our Club Chairman, Mr. Hugh Paterson who had a long association with the club, we were also looking to celebrate the legacy Hugh commenced.
The overriding aim of the event was in the boosting of fundraising for the Club, in particular our continued desire to be a leading light in the development of the game at grass roots level, allowing players of all age groups the opportunity to partake in Rugby.
Chairman of the Club, Ian Jackson: “We were very much looking forward to the Gala Dinner, so it is extremely disappointing that it can’t go ahead as planned on the scheduled date.
“However, given the concerns for our members and the public around COVID-19 and considering the large number of people we anticipate coming to the club in May, we believe that the organising committee has made the right decision in postponing the dinner”.
Accordingly the committee will review the situation with stakeholders in the coming weeks to reschedule the dinner and ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to celebrate when the time is right.
We look forward to announcing a new date for the Gala Dinner which will benefit the Club.
Any tables or tickets already purchased, or reserved for the dinner will remain valid for any rescheduled date.
We will advise all as soon as new dates are confirmed.
